GM acquisition of Cruise could hit legal snag

Cruise Automation CEO Kyle Vogt said his former business partner is claiming ownership stake in the start-up — a claim that could put a snag in General Motors’ acquisition of the San Francisco company.

Vogt and Cruise on Friday filed a lawsuit against Jeremy Guillory, who claims he has a stake in the company, in a move that’s designed to have a court say he has no such claim. The lawsuit says Guillory “emerged from the shadows” on March 14, three days after GM said it was acquiring Cruise, and claimed he had an ownership stake in the company.
