A number of vocal proponents of a UK semiconductor strategy seem to be asking for money without exactly specifying where it will be spent or why, once spent, it would do any good.
They threaten to relocate to the US or Europe to get money, but companies have to comply with stringent conditions to get funding from current national support programmes which are focussed less on design and more on process which is not a UK strength.
