Consumer Survey By Cybersecurity Company Indicates Lack Of Trust In Connected Vehicles

By the end of this decade, it’s going to be nearly impossible to buy a new vehicle that isn’t connected to the outside world in some way. Adding any kind of connectivity to a device inherently raises the risk of bad actors finding a way to cause havoc. Increasingly people seem to be aware of this and they are rightly concerned about the potential consequences as a new survey commissioned by cybersecurity firm Irdeto indicates.

The survey of 8,534 people was conducted in October across China, Canada, UK, US, Japan and Germany. Of the respondents, 93% said they either don’t have a connected vehicle or don’t know if they do.
