This significant accomplishment solidifies Gigafactory Shanghai’s position as the most productive EV factory globally, surpassing even Tesla’s Fremont Factory.

The factory began construction in December 2018 and commenced production in December 2019. Electrek notes it surged to become the world’s largest and most productive electric vehicle factory within two years, eclipsing competitors by a wide margin.
