Ford Motor Co. is investing $200 million in a new vehicle testing complex near Detroit in Allen Park, Mich., that will include a wind tunnel and climatic chamber.
Construction on the operation will begin later this year and should be completed by 2019, a Ford spokesman said. It will sit on 13 acres next to the automaker’s Driveability Test Facility, which has similar testing capabilities.
The complex will include a wind tunnel to conduct vehicle aerodynamic and other tests with speeds up to 200 miles per hour.
