Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling will deploy 20 Freightliner eCascadia Class 8 tractors, said Daimler Truck North America, the truck manufacturer’s parent company.
The delivery trucks will be based at the West Coast and Midwest bottler and distributor of Coca-Cola brands’ Downey, Calif., depot, it said Nov. 16.
“We’re excited to roll out these 100% electric, zero-emission heavy duty tractors as we strive toward our goal of reducing our carbon emissions in our operations by 30% by 2030,” said Tim Heinen, vice president of strategic infrastructure and development at Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling.
