USA can make a tenth of the world’s memory chips, says Micron

Micron intends to invest $40 billion in manufacturing expansion in the US over the next eight years, thanks to its anticipated access to Chips Act money.

Under the Chips Act the US government will pay 25% of the cost of a manufacturing facility.

Micron has just reduced its Q4 forecast and TrendForce has increased its Q3 consumer DRAM m-o-m price decline forecast to 13-18% to be followed by another 3-8% drop in Q4.
