American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc.’s net income climbed 21 percent to $71 million in the second quarter from the year-earlier period, the Detroit-based drivetrain supplier reported today.
The company’s revenue rose 2.1 percent to $1.02 billion in the quarter.
American Axle’s non-GM sales were $333.9 million in the quarter, a 2.7 percent dip from the year-earlier period. American Axle spun off from GM more than 20 years ago, but still generates about two-thirds of its business from its former parent company.
