General Motors’ Spring Hill, Tenn., plant will produce V-8 engines for the first time after the automaker invests $148 million in the facility, the company said today.
The plant will join GM facilities in Tonawanda, N.Y., and St. Catharines, Ontario, in producing 6.2-liter V-8 engines for trucks and SUVs. The engine is used in vehicles including the Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab, Cadillac Escalade and the GMC Yukon Denali.
