How Will CORE’s Purchase of National Boost Specialty Stamping?

June 6, 2024

In a decisive move that underscores its commitment to the industrial technology sector, CORE Industrial Partners (CORE) has once again expanded its growing portfolio through the strategic acquisition of National Manufacturing Co. (National) by CORE-owned PrecisionX Group. This acquisition is particularly significant as CORE continues to strengthen its conglomerate by merging National with its previous acquisitions, GEM Manufacturing and Coining, within PrecisionX. This blend aims to enhance their offerings in specialty deep and shallow drawn stamping, which are critical in high-demand markets like aerospace, defense, and medical.

National, a renowned entity founded in 1944 and rooted in Piscataway, New Jersey, brings expertise in handling complex shapes and challenging materials, including titanium and superalloys. Their 90,000-square-foot facility, boasting over 150 machines, holds various industry certifications, including the essential ITAR registration for operations within aerospace and defense sectors. This addition is poised to make a notable impact on CORE’s strategic impetus within the industrial landscape.

Bolstering a Robust Portfolio

CORE’s calculated venture in acquiring National displays its clear strategy of capitalizing on technical sectors that show promising growth trajectories. With a rich history since the mid-20th century, National has established a strong foothold in specialty stamping—a niche yet crucial area for several key industries. CORE’s interest is not mere consolidation but fostering organic growth and pinpointing strategic partnerships that could catapult National to new heights. Matthew Pugliesi from CORE accentuated National’s formidable presence within this niche and laid out the intention of expanding their market dominance.

The acquisition isn’t about assimilation; it is about amplification. CORE, which boasts over $1.58 billion in capital commitments, understands the potential locked within National’s capabilities. Reiterating this sentiment, Operating Partner Rock Lambert expressed genuine enthusiasm concerning the elevated standards and quality-driven philosophy that National has always upheld. Now under CORE’s umbrella, National is destined to benefit from an infusion of resources and excess manufacturing capacity, aiming to transform not only their current services but also preparing fertile ground for new customer relationships and innovations.

A Strategic Move for High-Growth Industries

CORE Industrial Partners (CORE) has significantly bolstered its presence in the industrial tech sector by acquiring National Manufacturing Co. (National). The move enhances CORE’s PrecisionX Group, which already includes GEM Manufacturing and Coining, by adding National’s expertise in specialty deep and shallow drawn stamping. These services are essential for industries that demand precision, such as aerospace, defense, and medical.

Established in 1944 and based in Piscataway, New Jersey, National Manufacturing Co. is noted for mastering complex shapes and difficult materials, such as titanium and superalloys. Their expansive facility spans 90,000 square feet and houses more than 150 machines. Additionally, this facility upholds strict industry standards, as evidenced by numerous certifications and ITAR registration, which is vital for aerospace and defense endeavors. The integration of National into the CORE family is a strategic step, likely to elevate CORE’s influence in the industrial sector markedly.
